strong and sustainable high-level commitment around rural proofing. As we prepare for
the workshop on Thursday, February 27, from 13:00 to 14:30 CET, we are reflecting on
key questions that will guide our conversation.

- How can we build a solid political commitment around rural proofing?
- Should rural proofing remain independent from electoral programs?
- What are the essential components of such a commitment? (e.g., budget
allocation, human resources, administrative restructuring, policy documentation,
action plans, legislative frameworks, etc.) - How can we ensure the stability and continuity of a cross-party political
agreement? - What mechanisms can be used to assess the prioritization of rural proofing on
the political agenda? - What is the best strategy for fostering long-term consensus and collective
ownership of rural proofing? - What roles do civil society and the media play in strengthening commitment?
- Which additional actors or factors should be considered in evaluating political
will? - How should rural proofing be communicated to the broader society and
